Bronx Duo Jazz Project

We had a wonderful turn out on Saturday for Daniel Garbin and Takeshi Asai's concert at Cote Wine Bar. 

Daniel Garbin, an associate professor with the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Queensborough Community College of the City University of New York, is also a multifaceted musician. Born in Baia Mare, Romania, his musical odyssey began at the Students' Club under the guidance of Professor Bertok, subsequently becoming a founding member of the jazz ensemble at the Baia Mare Art High School, under the tutelage of Professor Pauliuc. Upon the suggestion of musician Calin Ionce, Daniel's musical journey continued in Cluj-Napoca with the Big Band Gaio under the guidance of Professor Stefan Vannai. He also lent his exceptional guitar skills to a jazz quintet during his tenure at the Students' Culture House. Daniel performed alongside the Gaio Big Band and the quintet at the 1998 edition of the NAPOCENSIS International Jazz Festival, impressing audiences with his exceptional musical talent. ​Seeing Red, a band compromised of Puerto Rican, Ecuadorian, and Irish musicians joined us at our local athletic club, Tennis Club of Riverdale for our Small Business Week, promoting all the great businesses we have in the Northwest Bronx. Members stopped and enjoyed the music as they headed in and out of the gym.

We loved bringing Citalli to the Bronx as part of our Small Business Week, promoting all the wonderful businesses we have in the northwest Bronx. Citalli traveled around the neighborhood from Metate to Cocina Chente to Tobala. Community members were charmed to see strolling musicians wandering from place to place, and the restaurants were hopping.

We had a wonderful time at Downey's Bar and Grill celebrating the beginning of St. Patrick's Day season with the Allen Gogarty Trio including Patrick Madden on fiddle and Donie Ryan on banjo. The food was delicious and the company and community were the best. Thanks so much to everyone who came out!
