Monday Fundays were so much fun this fall, we had live music, activities for the kids, face painting, free give-aways. Also, our current Gallery 505 art exhibit was on display for the public to view.

We had such an amazing night at Erika Shallcross's opening event for her exhibit. Our wonderfully supportive community turned out and enjoyed the beautiful evening. Thanks to Scott Bravo for his gorgeous music. Erika Shallcross is a visual artist based in New York City. A photographer, painter, and collage technician, her pieces are both whimsical and evocative. Regularly experimenting with new techniques and touching on various themes, Shallcross believes these parameters simultaneously anchor, free, and guide her work. Shallcross is the owner of the Riverdale-based New York Portrait Company, which specializes in unique and innovative women’s portraiture. In addition, she teaches a variety of courses at Pelham Art Center in Westchester, New York. NewYorkPortraitCompany.com
We had a tremendous concert at the Van Cortlandt House Museum grounds with the Wayne Escoffery Quartet including Wayne Escoffery on sax, Mike Moreno on guitar, Gary Versace on keyboard, and Darrell Green on drums. It was a beautiful late afternoon in the park and the community came out to enjoy a picnic under the trees and listen to some world-class jazz. Thanks so much to the Museum and to Van Cortlandt Park Alliance for their support. And thank you to State Senator Gustavo Rivera for stopping by.
