We had a wonderful ​Galentine's Day at a domestic violence shelter here in The Bronx. We wanted to show the importance of self-love to the ladies. We had childcare watch the children so the mamas could have some time.
Each lady had breakfast, took home a self-help book, an inspirational book of quotes, a tote bag, lipstick, cookies, chocolate lollipops, treats, etc. The children had coloring books, toys, and treats in the playroom. Thank you to Angie E. Rivera for her gorgeous decor, as always!

Mosaic Mental Health was there and had one on one sessions with the ladies. Thank you Mayra. Simone donated 50 copies of her book, signed them, and made a speech about love. Thank you to The Riverdale Mom's Book Club for donating 50 copies of "You Are A Badass." This was a beautiful event for the ladies! We do not take photos of the people in the shelters. 

We hosted an inspiring, moving, beautiful night of poetry with Janeth A. Benjamin, Perry Brass, Orlando Ferrand, Lee Huttner and Michael Steigman -- thanks to the writers for sharing their work and to our incredible community that came out to enjoy and support them.

​Today was very special. Riverdale kicked off the 1st day of Black History Month with the debut of Small Business Spotlight: Black-owned businesses. Celebrating diversity and creating a more inclusive community is the goal. Thank you to the businesses.
